About
Back Creek Beef
Our Farm
Specializing in 100% Grass-Fed Heritage Breed Cattle
At Back Creek Beef, our farm’s new chapter begins here—on the historic Bristoll Plantation in Elkton, Maryland, where our family has lived and worked the land since 1683 under a Lord Baltimore land grand. As 9th generation farmers, we're proud to continue this legacy with a renewed focus on sustainable cattle farming.
Our journey into beef production starts with 30 head of cattle, including cow-calf pairs and a bull that are registered Red Devon, all raised with a commitment to humane animal husbandry. We raise heritage Red Devon cattle, a breed prized for its docile nature, excellent grazing ability, and gourmet-quality beef.
Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished, spending 28 months on pasture to naturally develop rich marbling and full-bodied flavor. We believe in slow, intentional farming that honors the health of the animal, the quality of the product, and the integrity of our land.
In addition to raising exceptional beef, we also produce premium horse hay, supporting both our livestock and the wider equestrian community.
Back Creek Beef is more than a farm—it’s a return to tradition, a commitment to stewardship, and a passion for raising food the right way.
